Certainly the photos of Aleksei with the table and book match the setup shown in the 1913 Aleksei/Alix pose you posted -- even the table cloth is a clear match to the NAOTMAA group photo.

However, I can't resist playing devil's advocate for a minute. IMO the upholstery on the chair isn't a 100% guarantee that Aleksei's solo wingback photos are also from 1913. The same furniture often appears in different formal sessions. For example, the bench Anastasia is sitting on in the 1913 NAOTMAA formals was used by Aleksei in the 1906 session and again by Tatiana in 1916. Likewise another chair used by Aleksei as a toddler in 1906 reappears in 1910, 1913, and 1914.

Another possible clue...
In this photo, there's no background curtain like there is in 1913 -- instead, the wallpaper matching the chair is clearly visible:

lol! I think it's much earlier to pull back a curtain and take another set of photos than it would be to  set up the same flowers, cloth ,and chair a year later  =)  The same furniture appears in the Big Pair's  1913 court dress photos ,( chair, table ) that appreas  the whole OTMA 1914 photos and even in the OTMA  1916 photos ( the sofa of the set instead of the chair ) ....seems alot of the AP formal  photos were taken in AF's corner drawing room....seeing  the same furniture then over the years isn't unexpected...seeing the same flowers and book a year apart would be imo

ANother to thing to consider is Alexei's pose. The latest pic that Sarushka posted, you can see the awkward way his knee bends indicate 1913 due to the 1912 accident.

I think that photo is from 1917 or early 1918.  I have seen photos of Alexei sawing wood with his father before and from the height of Alexei it has to be sometime after the abdication.

The winter of 1917 - 1918 was spent in Tobolsk and Alexei grew considerably taller because he had been well for some time.  His next accident didn't happen until just before Nicholas and Alexandra and Marie left for "Moscow" and ended up in Yekaterinburg.

In these picture of him sawing wood with his father he looks quite the young man in height and weight.  Most certainly 13 going on 14 as that is the time when young men begin their growth spurts.

Hello guys, I wanted to hear your opinion about this Alexei's photo? Could this one be taken at captivity at Tsarskoe Selo in 1917:



I am asking simply because the Heir was wearing the same uniform like in this one :



And the place is the same. Well , there are two possible options : - either these were both taken in 1917 (the second one surely was, it is in Anastasia's 1917 album) at the same time/place, or the first one was taken somewhere during the war. What do you think? There are several photos of Heir taken in 1917, with the same uniform, this included :

I believe they were taken in captivity at Tsarskoe Selo in 1917. The fact the 2nd one is in Anastasia's 1917 album, helps greatly because other wise I would wonder if this was 1916.

I think the two photos at the bridge to Children's Island featuring Alexis ,were taken the same day...and  the sunlight tells us, very close in time. The one with the  Imp on AP's  Circuital Hall terrance ,could have been taken that day as well and very likely was .... But this had to be early on in captivity since Alexi's has his small rifle in the photo with Anastasia and we know that was taken away at some point.

In the first photo, the guard is using a type of pump that seems to be taking canal water and spraying someone off camera with a small hose   ...well you KNOW Alexis wants to be in on that...he's climbing  the bridge as fast as possible to join the guard and I'm sure,  ask to use the hose himself ( on someone of course!)   lol! I imagine it was gas powered and just started up and proved it can spray very well lol! AN would have been there from the start if they knew it would work so well imo

It looks reasonably warm and comfortable outside judging from their attire. Perhaps May or early June? According to Nicholas's diary the "Alexei rifle incident" happened on June 16th, but I believe he was keeping all of his dates in "Old Style" so it actually would have occurred on June 29th. I believe I saw June 16th being the day of the head shavings. I'm guessing that's June 16th "New Style" since I'd have a hard time believing both things would have occurred on the same day. This gives around three months of captivity for those photos to be taken A) showing Alexei with rifle in tow, and B) showing Anastasia with a full head of hair.

Now I am wondering about that photo with Alexis and Anastasia...they both looked tanned,( certainly he looks more so than in the bridge photos so it's at least another day  )  the awnings  are up, he has his gun... hmmmmm...perhaps that was taken in 1916. Imp has on a similar  outfit from the Petehof photo( though with diffrent stockings) and Alexis looks a bit younger
