It does (I believe sailor hats always have the name of the ship that it belongs to on it).
He also wore 'miniature clothes' of what the sailors of the Standart wore, these suits were made specially for him.

I'm looking for a picture of a smiling Alexandra with Alexei hanging on the stairs.  He's in one of his sailor suits.  It has probably been posted here ten thousand times, so please just post a link if you find it.

I think it was popular to dress boys & girls in the same clothes up until the end of World War I. Or so says my book "Queen Victoria's Family" by Charlotte Zeepvatt.

I know these aren't stairs, but I believe this is the only one that comes close to what you were asking for.

LOL dont we all want to learn to speak in Russian!!??
maybe this site should start a tutoring thread where we can teach each other basic Russian words-post them with the correct spelling and pronounciation, and of course, the english treanslation ::)

I'm wondering where this picture was taken. I'd assume it's at a palace, but I'm not sure which one. Alexander, Catherine, or another?
