I'm guessing a room in the home of Anna Vyrubova or one of her relatives. Here's another view:

(I believe this woman appears in family photos from Vyrubova's albums.)

I know I've seen that image somewhere as well, but I can't remember which book it might have been. If I can recall the source, I'll try to verify it.

That woman, Sarushka looks like Alexandra - Sana(Taneeva) Pistolkros, but I am not certain. What do you think? I think I have seen that woman in one of Rasputin group with women photos, but I am not certain:

Taken on March 9th 1914, by Kristynin.

Leonid Alexeevich Molchanov, handsome man, third from left; in first row, from left to right -- Alexandra Pistolkros (Sana, Virburova's younger sister) and her husband, near door is Nikolay Zhevahov - small man with moustache(it is hard to see him because of female's heads), near him Ervin Gill and Nina Yahimovich(tall woman with wide shoulders),Olga Loman and her daughter Nadezhda. And the last in row -- Ana Reshetnikova.
In the second row is Sofia Volinska, then Virburova, woman in black - Gushchina, woman with hat is Lili Dehn, then Rasputin's father, and in the last row are Zina Timopheyeva,Maria Golovina(sitting), Rasputin and Mrs. Kleist, and last woman Akylina Laptinskaya, near Rasputin's legs.
From Razdinsky's 'Rasputin: Life and Death'

I think baby is not the Tsarevich. I am not sure. Who would be woman? Maybe Maria Vishnyakova, OTMAA's nun?  :)

Agree with you. It doesn't look like him to me. Alexei had a bigger head... and he had bigger eyes... btw, here's a photo of him as a baby (it was probably posted before), it's from Grand Duchess Ally's site:

Well... does the baby on the eBay pic look like the Tsarevich?

Good idea. I would have done it myself, but I don't have an eBay account... I never decided to make one, although I visit eBay often... to see what people are offering...

Baby looks like him, but I am not sure. Thank you for posting, Katenka!

Captivity or during war? I'd guess captivity, because place looks strange for me, as at Tobolsk:

Look at house behind him, I think same house is in these two:

I don't mean about Governor's house, but about left one in first and hosue in center of second photo, fence too tell me it is Tobolsk.

So, I'd guess Tobolsk, even in late 1917.

Well, it looks like the same house to me, so I'd say it's Tobolsk too.

Nena, I think you're right. The house in the background looks the same to me, too.

I don't have a very clear photo of the governor's balcony, but it looks like the railings could match as well:

I have never seen the second one -- where did you get it?

How about this balcony? I think it matches with photo of Aleksei on it:

I'm guessing Peter Kurth's book, but I can't recall for certain.

I think you're right, since first one you posted came from Kurth's book. Thank you anyway.
