I think that second photo looks like the front of the alexander palace, looking from the right hand wing.

I don't think it was taken at Tsarskoe. I think it was taken at Peterhof. It might have been taken the same time when the 2 young grand duchesses were wearing a dotted dress and sitting on a rock with Alexei.

It IS hard to tell, but it does look like it could possibly be Alexei. Yet, is that boy's hair too straight to be Alexei at that age?

As the others said, it's hard to tell, but it just doesn't look like Alexei to me. The expression, the hair... don't look like Alexei's. :-\
