Masha was all Minnie, in my humble opinion.

I just find it remarkable that among all the people who have written about the family none has pointed it out. At most they say she inherited her grandfather´s strength.

Was Maria considered physically strong? I've heard people say she was built like a female AIII but still feminine looking. I definitely think Maria got her main facial features from her Danish grandmother. You can definitely see the similarity between Maria and a young Minnie.

I think Maria inherited the best combination of features from the Russians and Danes unlike say her Aunt Olga who seem to inherit her fathers built but none of her mother's femininity.

Maria was a strong girl for sure. She could lifet all of her siblings, and I recall reading she could even lift a grown man! When Alexei was ill, she would be the one to carry him often.

I just saw this photo for the first time.  Without a doubt this is the most gorgeous picture I've seen posted of Maria.   She's stunning here.

I too found this particular shot of her pretty remarkable. A bit more slender looking face here than I'm accustomed to seeing. Very modelesque. Now if only we can find it in better quality some day.
