There have been a lot of great rares in the past month but wow, this one is just stunning. Such wonderful smiles!

I wonder what the occasion was since Olga also has a solo photograph holding the flowers. I've never seen the little pair wear those dresses before.

It is a gorgeous picture.  There's so much natural expression in the girls' faces, especially in Maria's and Anastasia's.  My mouth opened in delight the moment I laid eyes on it.  Thank you for posting!

Agree with everything that's been said above. Marie, in particular, has that adorable gap toothed smile and looks extra charming with her hair a tad messy. And this is without a doubt one of the prettiest pictures of Anastasia I've ever seen!

Now it is great. Due to two reasons- it is rare to see both Maria and Alexei together. Another thing, it was taken in 1917. Is M standing on the ladder? Thank you Ally and Ilya.

It really is rare! 1917, Maria outdoors without a hat, Alexei starting to look like a teen more than a child. It's a shame the details aren't clearer, maybe there was too much light when the photo was taken.

I think Maria has her stilts with her, but is not standing on them. Instead, Alexei is kneeling.

I think Alexei is standing in the water at the end of the plank you can see in these two pictures, Maria on her stilts behind him.

It might be the 11 July 1912, for Olga's namesday. St Olga has his feast the 11 of July.
