I cannot help but to feel that pictures of Maria are quite rare. I mean - sure, there are hundreds of them - but when compared to the number of photos taken of her siblings, you get a huge difference.  And so seeing a new picture of "my girl" as I dare to call her sometimes when I have a fangirl moment, is a treasure. Thank you Ilya!

Yep, Anastasia also has less pictures than Olga, Tatiana or Alexei! But still, my picture folder for Maria is by far the smallest. The two girls were responsible for the greatest ammount of photos taken, so it makes sense.

For me too the Maria photo folder is the smallest of OTMAA. That makes it extra special to see such beautiful rares!

Great photo.A nice candid shot, showing something of a new look: biting her lip and with the thick,  uncombed ,long hair.Displaying the natural beauty of which her contemporaries wrote.

Moreover, some of Maria's solo photos and photos where she is in have "light exposures", scratches, etc. which appear exactly where she is/near her! It ruins the view of her very, very,very  beautiful face! I am Maria's fan girl, too, so I ha~te that! (T_T)

P.S. Sorry for my grammar. I can't say what I mean in a clearer way :S 

I am so unlucky right now. I can't see all new photos yet because I'm only having internet at phone where I can't load photos :' ((

Yeah this absolutely is one of the most adorable photos of them.

A little off topic here, but with regards to the subject of photograph quality. Was there really no significant advances made in home photography technology between the latter-19th and early 20th centuries? It just strikes me how a black & white photo from the 1940s could ever be poorer quality than ones taken in the 1880s. A much smaller gap but still significant can be seen on this very thread. We have pictures with breathtaking quality from 1900 (see above) and ones of very poor quality from 1916/17. I realize some of these were taken by professional photographers, but wouldn't the imperial family have had the best equipment available at their disposal as well?

It would be as if Polaroid snapshots from the 90s came out better than ones taken on your IPhone 6.
