It's interesting Vanya Ivanova , you speak of the difference between them  being mischievous glint in Imp's eyes, because just today I ran into
the testimony of one of the washer women who came to Ipative House on July 15th to wash the floors. She said all the children had the look of thier mother, but unlike her, they had laughter and smiles. I agree. In my three years of painting the family, I have really come to appreciate how much the children took after Alix...even in thier smiles =)

Wow! BlessOTMA, those comparison pictures between Anastasia and her mother are incredible, startling even. Thank you for posting them. Anastasia was the least like her mother in bearing and manner, but after seeing those pictures, in terms of facial features, Anastasia really was the 'image' of her mother.

lol  Sunny, you are amazing!  That is exactly right! I read it in FOTR while trying to find  the part where Marie scolded the guard who told an "off colour" that is , a sexy joke which  made Tatiana leave the room. Marie took them to task. Little Bow Wow had a bark!

I have been meaning to post those photos for awhile, this was a good opportunity AND I knew where each was...rare! lol

Anastasia certainly was the image of   Alix's "family of original" as the saying goes....that is, she took after Alix and her siblings . The Imp would fit right in in those photos of Alix's parents and all their  children!

Lol, nothing amazing: i've read FOTR just... 4 times? LOL! Well, i think that MN for her simplicity was the one who could bear sexual jokes better among OTMA...

And she was at Ipative so much longer , I would think that would play a role... it was more her "home truff" However you are right...she had a forcefulness not often seen, but when it came forward, Wow. During the first days of the Feb  revolution one of Alix's ladies in waiting ( Isa? Li? ) noticed  a force awaking in Marie. She would have proved even more remarkable had she been allowed her natural life imo
