A previously unknown portrait of Alexey was found in Pushikin on 30 August.

From a Russian book about Gibbes, images previewed by an online bookstore. Thanks to Antonina for posting the link and letting me share these!

With the three tutors, 1914.

With Petrov, 1913.

Kolya Derevenko is in the first photo as well. It was taken in fall of 1914.

This may be proof that the each member of NAOTMAA took the photo of another member at the same photo session, which could mean that each one of the IF member had at least one photo of another one in his/her album:

What I wanted to say -- these two photos were taken by at least two persons at the same time! ;-) And could be found in OTMA's and AF's private album, for example.

Photo credit goes to L.Mabee's site FrozenTears. (The first one).

Amazing !  I would think they were taken within moments of each other...makes sense shutter bugs ( old name for avid photographers )
like the IF would take photos of official photo sessions

With Petrov, 1913.

I think this is in the corridor outside Alexei's rooms. Compare with these photos from the similar corridor on the other side of the palace, specifically, the windows above the door.

It's actually the same man. According to Shawn Kailian on his Alexander Palace Facebook group page: "...this man went by the name "Al Chromium" that is how Google Chrome translates it as. He was part of the NKVD and this photograph was taken in 1938 at the Alexander Palace when it was used as a sanatorium for the NKVD. It is from the personal archive (though made public by courtesy of www.tsarselo.ru) of Anna Larina. This was her grand-father."

Interesting. Thanks for the information. He does look like he could have been an older 20-something version of Alexei.

EmmyLee, to clarify, are you saying that the photograph posted by KarinK is of the Alexander Palace? Because it states very clearly under the photograph she posted that it is was taken at the palace at Livadia....

Oh. Well, I can't read Russian. Just thought the doorway looked a lot like the one from the photos I posted. Never mind, then.

Presuming the caption is correct. We all know how often they aren't.

I don't know the interior corridors well enough to differentiate between the two palaces, but these photos certainly look similar enough to make me wonder.
