How wonderful! I am always happy to see pictures of Maria and Alexei. There seem to be so few!

I was just about to comment the same thing Ally. I feel that I see him most with Olga or Anastasia but not so much with Maria. I've been so caught up in the new OTMA photos I haven't even thought to look at Alexei's thread.

This photo makes wish I could travel back in time and give Alexandra a hug because God, she looks like she could use one.

I agree. I was surprised by the crispness of this photo first and then by how aged she looks after that. I feel as if it is so easy to demonize her when you don't know all that much and only see the cover page of history. She wasn't a perfect person but I feel such empathy for her...

Agreed. I also see big similarities between Tatiana and Aleksei as well.

It's remarkable how alike they  can look

The resemblance between them seems to be more noticeable when they grimace as sunlight shines on them. However, I've also seen other photos of them from 1916-1917 where they pose ordinarily yet still, the resemblance is there. I can't give the photos, though (nyay, DVD's at home and I'm living somewhere else :' (  )

Loving this photo of father and son. Looks like Alexei is the sailor saying "Welcome aboard Standart" while Nicholas is the captain of the ship who also welcomes the passenger.

Nicholas' smiling eyes are remarkably beautiful to see. One look at him and you'll see how much intensely happy he is with his family.
