That woman could only be Alexandra I presume.

Thanks for posting these. Both are new to me and both are fantastic!

Maria Sisi > I am absolutely in love with the one of Alexei sliding down the white cloth with his legs all splayed. ADORABLE. It would be nice to find that in HQ. Do you know what book that came from?

Unfortunate Laura I don't know what book it came from, I just found it floating around on the net. I tried to look it up but it didn't have any label or source.

This one is new to me. I like Alexei's expression on it

One site labels that the nun is Klaudia M. Bitner.

That site would be wrong. She wasn't  a nun when she was tutoring the Imperial children, and certainly not when she married Vasily Pankratov in 1921.

Maybe she just dressed as a nun on that day? Kidding, of course.
At first, I thought that the nun is most likely the same one that visited the IF during their captivity.

Wait a minute. Any chance that that nun  was GD Elizabeth, Ella? She DID appear with her nieces and nephew a few times after taking vows. The twos' ease together suggests this possibility.

I've seen two other photos from this session. One with Alexei facing straight at the camera and another of the back of his head. Are there any others?

If that photo was taken at Tobolsk in late 1917, or early 1918, which I believe so,  the woman can't be Ella.

Maria Sissi, the last one is adorable, I dare to notice.

You're right, Nena, if we can be sure that the site was Tobolsk. I thought it may have been Mogilev on one of Alexei's visits there. He wore his military coat there too, though I believe it's more likely Tobolsk.

Tsraevich Alexei with his father, a boy or a soldier (Kolia Derevenko?), K. Nagorny and diadka Derevenko breaking the ice, late winter/early spring of 1917, Tsarskoe Selo:

Also extremly rare to me. I have never seen it before.
