The sailor in white is Nagorny. I think , but am not sure, that the other boy is Kolya  Derevenko, Dr. Derevenko's son. I thought sailor nanny Derevenko's oldest boy was somewhat younger and smaller than the boy in photo. It would help to have photos handy of the Derevenko children,  all of them.

Also, at this time after revolution and Nicholas' abdication and arrest, and considering  Derevenko's status as a sailor , and Vladimir Derevenko's status as a doctor, it seems more plausible that the boy is Kolya. It might have been difficult and awkward for a mere sailor, even a formerly well-placed one like "Dina" ,to have his children playing around the Palace with the ex-Imperial Family.

From 1908 and ca. 1916:

(Not sure about the second one though, I believed in the caption)

Also, while searching the photos, I found one rare to me photo of Alexei with Derevenko taken somewhere and sometimes. Still a mystery to me. See:

Honestly, I was never able to recognize Koly or any other Aleksei's friends in the photo. I only know Vasya Agaev and Zehnya Makarev who accompained him during the summer of 1916. :-D

New for me

That one was taken at Tsarskoe Selo's Gardens in 1911.

Is the second sailor on the picture K. Nagorny?

Yes, I believe so.

I've long been bewildered as to why Anna V. would have said such a thing in the first place about Derevenko. Was she mistaken or did she outright lie? And if it was a lie, what was the purpose?

I always thought Anna simply disliked Derevenko, for whatever reason, so much that when she was sure he could not really protect himself, she made the story up.

Ally and everyone, do you think that these ones were taken at the same day? I'd say that the same man appears in both photos. And they do have the same outfits?

It is quite possible, but the quote photo is very blurry, and it may not even be the same man.

This photo makes wish I could travel back in time and give Alexandra a hug because God, she looks like she could use one.

Yes, and sadly this is a 44 year old woman who looks more like Alexei's grandmother than his mother.
