Pockets in summer sailor suit?

Can anyone tell if that is a pocket on these shorts?  Or if this sort of outfit would have a pocket?  In the picture above is also an object which could be a pocket flap.

IMO, it is model of small ship (sculpture one photo), or in one you posted, it might be a toy.

Oh, sorry, my mistake. I am not really into OTMAA's fashion styles, so I think maybe someone else can help you.  ;-). Probably short summer trousers.

I don't know it to a certainly, but I would expect that Aleksei's sailor trouser would have had pockets.

There's this one picture where Alexei is shown standing in the water with a watering can in his hand, I think it was taken in Finland in 1909-1910, where he is wearing a similar outfit, I think you can get a good view of his shorts in that picture.

Thanks, that is the best copy of that picture I've seen and I do see at least a line where a pocket would be.

If I recall correctly, there's a full-page print of that image in Prince Michael's book that might show even greater detail. (I'm away from most of my books for the time being, so I can't check.)

In picture #4 those shorts look too lean to have a pocket.

ya i do not hthink they have pockets... oh does anyone know were i can get a sailor hat LIke alexei? in need it for Ap history or the entire sailor outfit. sorry for getting off topic

This is a one piece sailor costume that appears to have been made up on a whim by one of the Imperial seamstresses.  He might have worn this just a few times and then discarded for a more official looking outfit as he grew.
