Indeed. We could do this all day long and come up with different results, so I wouldn't call it "the truth" by any means. Still, it's a fun gadget to mess around with.

I came up with 4% in favor of Alix, and a 50/50 split on my two Nicholas-Alix-Tatiana meters. (Apparently I didn't save them correctly...)

Thank you, Born_too_late! It is so interesting to see that and to discuss about OTMA resembles to N&A. IMO, Tatiana really looked like her mother.
For Tsarevich Aleksei it is so hard to tell had he more resemblance to mother than father?

IMO:

Olga had something from both of her parents.
Tatiana had a bit of Alix, but I I think she was closer in features to Ella, and Empress Maria Alexandrovna from Romanov branch of the family.
Maria was a perfect Romanov - I always thought she resembled Nicky, Alexander III. and Maria Fyodorovna.
Anastasia looked most of the girls like Alix, though she didn´t have the gentleness of the face in her later years.
Alexei took more after his mother than father .....

Of course all of them had something of both sides. IMO, there are different answers if we look their faces, for example, or their emotions and personalities.

Which shows that Olga resembles her father more than her mother by a whopping 44%.

This is the most surprising yet, he looks more like his father by 25%.

The truth is always rather surprising isn't it? Although I admit, computers aren't always that accurate especially because of photo angles. Still, this is interesting:)

How would you do this for your own family? I am not sure, but think it is interesting and so private message me if you can tell me. I always thought Tatiana looked more like Nicholas too, but the results of this are interesting. Thanks for showing them to the forum!

I think Anastasia and Alexei look most like Alexandra, and there are pictures where I go "Wow!  They really look like her here!"

If you compare pictures of Alix when she was younger, there isn't much resemblance. I always thought Tatiana looked like the Tsar because they both have fine, chiselled features and far- set eyes. Take this picture for an instance, http://www.livadia.org/tanya/images/nickyalexeitanya.jpg
Although it is limited, I think Tatiana has a greater resemblance to Nicholas.

People who met Tatiana said she was basically the clone of Alexandra. Physically and spiritually, she was more like her mother than her father.
But the children had features from both sides equally so it's not really something you can analyze.
Plus, anyone can look like anyone from a specific angle and you can't accurately examine it using pictures of when they were so young because their faces would have changed when they were older. Anastasia looked a lot like Alexandra when she was a little girl but that wasn't so true when she was in her late teens.

Tatiana had more common sense than Alexandra though.. well maybe I wouldn't use the word common sense, but Tatiana was known as the '' Governess'' in the family, while Alexandra wasn't someone in my opinion who was good at organizing things or such. Tatiana was more down to earth, less emotional, and would have made a better consort than Alexandra did.

I agree with you, imperial angel! Tatiana was good with organising things,very creative,  she oftenly helped to people around her, very wise, elegant and beautiful, oftenly called 'leader' of OTMA, and people said for her that : It is so apparently that she is a Grand Duchess.

Tatiana was definitely level-headed in trying times but I wouldn't say Alexandra was less organized or more emotional. She seemed to hold up fairly well considering her physical health, which was being balanced with the war and everything that came along. Although Tatiana also had a playful side, she definitely revered her mother and seemed to be following her mother's example more so than her father's. That's why she was often said to be the perfect incarnation of Alexandra. Alexandra and Tatiana both shared qualities such as duty, practicality, spirituality, service, and decorum.

I wouldn't exactly say that Alexandra was more emotional than Tatiana, but perhaps Alexandra showed her emotions a lot more, and Tatiana didn't weighed down by feelings. A lot of people said that Tatiana was a perfect reincarnation of Alix, both physically and spiritually. They certainly both were enigmatic, in my opinion, and had a strong sense of duty and religion, and were unmistakably royal.

As for looks, there have been very few occasions that I've noticed a strong resemblance between Tatiana and Alix, but I've often felt that Tatiana looked more like her father, particularly the eye shape, but I'd say the nose is exactly like Alix's. Overall, Tatiana resembled both of her parents, in my opinion.
