I find Post Mortem and "Lit de parade" pictures fascinating, albeit a bit morbid!

I must admit I do too, Kmerov. I think I must have dozens of these postcards, magazine images and cabinet cards. One of the saddest ones, to me, was of Friedrich III. He looked so wasted from his illness compared to what a virile man he had been.

I'm glad that I'm not the only one with this fascination. ;-)
I don't think i have ever seen a post mortem picture of Friedrich III, but I can imagine how he looked after such a long battle. Quite accidentally I just saw a picture of him taken while Emperor and he looked quite distinguished.

the saddest one i ve ever seen is a photoshoot to Wilhelm I `s funeral. He looks so badly arranged in his  casket!. I got the pictures but sadly not in this computer. I ll post them later.

Another heartbreaking Pm image is the one of Victoria, Duchesse d`Nemours. Here two version...the little one a beautiful protrait of her in her deathbed and in big, the real picture. You can imagine her giving her last breath...
