Perhaps the most bizarre commemoration of the Jubilee yet?:

A rather watered down procession.  It would ideally have been nice to see all the descendants of George V of the Queen´s generation participate.  Looks like they will once again be relegated to coaches and mini-buses.  Don´t the Mews have any carriages left???

Probably some of the men will be on horse back. The big celebration is the  Thames flotilla anyway. After that, I doubt I will bother with anything else. The crowds are too much for me.

But i definatley won't miss laying in one of the parks on a blanket to watch the concert!

I did that  in 2002. It was great fun.  The Mall was packed. So was St James park. We had to walk home which was not that far  as the Tube had to close from congestion.  Up again early am to  find a place for the procession to St. Paul's and back.
Once  was enough for me.  I was exhausted for 2 days after. Glad I did it though.

The Queen and Prince Philip spent April 26 and 27 in Wales, the setting for some of the most significant royal visits of the 20th century
