That is Olga Nikolaevna, Anastasia was walking behind her and Tatiana to her right. Maria was behind Tatiana. To my knowledge it´s 1914 Moscow, declaration of war.

I thought it was the Tercentury(Is that right? I forgot how to spell it.) celebrations.

It's confusing not only because the location is identical, but because Aleksei was carried by a cossack on both occasions. During the tercentenary, he wasn't fully recovered from the Spala incident. At the outbreak of WWI, he'd recently injured his ankle on board the Standart and was unable to walk alone -- in fact, he didn't attend the declaration of war in St. Petersburg at all.

The easiest feature to distinguish between the tercentenary and the Moscow war ceremony are the dark ribbons fastening the grand duchesses' hats under their chin. In 1913, OTMA wore broader-brimmed hats without dark ribbons. In 1914, they also wore dark sashes across their bodice that aren't present in the 1913 photos.

Thank you nena!

Sorry for the imperfect quality, unfortunately this photo seems ruined...is this taken in Mogilev?

I am not sure. NII started visit Mogilev in October of 1915, and by then, it was autumn and winter time. I have never seen him in pose like that from Mogilev visits. At least, in spring of 1916, he came to Tsarskoe Selo and in May came back to Stavka.  It can be also Krasnoe Selo maneuvers, in 1913.  ;-). Or 1914, no later, IMO. And, photo is very rare for me!

You are very welcome. This is what Aglaya posted:

Full version :-)

So, it is definitely before 1914. One of Tsar and Aleksei you posted was taken in 1913. Catherine Palace, I think.

Yes, it is Alexandra.

Thank you! (and thanks to Aglaya too)...if I'm not wrong the woman on the car is Alexandra, right?...about the photo with Alexei, I think that it was taken in front of Catherine Palace too, and I have noticed just now that it was already posted before by Ally, but in a different (better) version...take a look at the reply #137.

Yep, it's Alexandra. You can barely make out her profile, but you can tell if you look closely.
