Is it true that Anastasia colored that picture Lovy send earlier? I have it somewhere on my computer, but I don't know for sure if it was really done by Anastasia herself. ???

It's labeled in Anastasia's Album as colored by her. ;)

Daria Hesse is mentioned in Kurth's Anna Anderson book. She was friends with Olga and her father was Tsarskoe Selo’s garrison’s commandant. Daria and her mother met AA, but she didn’t believe AA was Anastasia, I don’t remember her mother’s opinion.

Daria Petrovna Gesse (1890-1977)was a daughter of Palace Commandant Petr Pavlovitch Gesse and Maria Nikolayevna Kozlianinova. Her Aunt Ekaterina Kozlianinova (married a Stroukov) was a favourite lady-in-wating of GDss Elizaveta Fedorovna.
Daria married a Gordeev-Arkhipov and died actully in the USA, in Santa-Barbara.

A letter from Olga to Daria:

Olga Nikolaevna to Daria Petrovna Gesse
16/29 March 1918
(Tobolsk.) 16/29 March 1918
Dear Daria! Thank you very much for your letter, which took quite a long time to come. I did not reply earlier, thinking that my letter, like the others, will not arrive, which is why I’m sending a postcard now. Everyone is well. Today's weather is a severe storm with snow, but before it was wonderfully sunny. It happens a lot here. We work in the garden. Tell Irina T[olstaya] hello from my brother and sisters. And how are you getting along? I kiss you tenderly. My regards to your Mama.
Olga.

Translation is my own -- corrections welcome.

Valentina Cherbotariova was the wife of a Colonel in the Guard Artillery, and worked in the hospital at Tsarskoe-Selo. Her son Gregori worked there briefly in summer 1916 between school and joining the army, and Tatiana wrote to him from Tobolsk.

A tiny photo of Daria Gesse (from a group-photo of 1915 year when she worked as a nurse)
