I just found this online, hoping someone may have more information or pictures on this. There appears to have been a history exhibition of the Yusupov's in Kazan this past May. I was to locate some video and pictures, but was hoping someone could translate for me. I was able to spot a few pictures of Zenaida, one of Nicholas, and of Irina, that I have never seen. Needless to say I'm very excited and eager to know more about this exhibition.




(call me crazy but I think that picture in the corner is Zenaida in her famous costume dress from 1883, the one she used again in 1903)

The most pictures of that exhibit in mass-media are related to Xenia Sfiri's visit to Kazan and her opening of the exhibition. Xenia here, Xenia there, Xenia everywhere ... :)
"The Yusupovs - Kazan- St.Petersburg- Paris" is the name of the exhibiton, most of the items are from the Yusupov Palace on Moika in St.Pete - portraits, rare photos ,furniture, correspondence and so on.

Ack, so pity the exhibition was opened in May, I've just been in Kazan in the end of April...

NO wonder I recognized some of the furtinure! I guess it was a big deal to have Xenia Sfiri there for the opening.  Thanks for the translation Svetabel. Real shame you missed the exhibition by a few weeks! So close! Thanks again.

The Countess speaks in the video interview, and when she was asked by the reporter if she feels like a princess at all (she used the word "knyagina") she answered that "no, definitely not.  I'm Xenia.... Nicolaevna, and I'm very happy with this".  She seemed to be very "approachable", very easy-going. 

Has anybody ever conducted an extended interview with her? What does she think when she goes to Russia, and sees the palaces, the art, the furniture and certainly, the jewels that belonged to her direct ancestors less than a century ago?

I think that if Russia were to restore to her the value of all the assets that the communists expropriated, there wouldn't be enough money in the country.

I know that some time ago they let her spend a short time in the Moika palace, I think, with her family, and her portrait hangs in there as well, but other than that, has she been able to recover even a small fraction of what she would have inherited? Has any Russian noble family been able to have anything returned to them by the Russian State?
