I was happy to see that they didn't forget their German relations and that their minds are not still in WWII...Although not previously announced by the official guest list,Hohenlohe-Langenburg,Hessen,Toerring-Jettenbach,Baden and Oettingen-Spielberg families were present,maybe even more,but don't know!

I was thinking that,  it would have been nice to see a representation of the  Romanoff... the Wittlesbach..... the Habsburgs..... even the Bourbon !  .... the truly great Royal Families of Europe

The Queen and crown prince [Prince of Asturias] of Spain were there.  otherwise, it looked like the only non-reigning royals invited were related to the family, even if obscurely

True,but(for me) it's always nice to hear that families such as Oettingen-Oettingen und Oettingen-Spielberg,Hohenlohe-Langenburg,Toering-Jettenbach,Hessen-Kassel,Baden were also present and maintain ties with the head branch of the royal family that is ofted described as the less Continental one,unlike Kent branch...

The pervailing rule, seems to be; those who were there, at the wedding, were either related to the family OR representing  de-facto ruling houses [ruling royals].
 Defunct royals, played no part in a  semi-state, family wedding.
 One more point- we have no idea as to  just who might have been invited,, but sent regrets.

I did read that Crown Prince Naruhito and his wife, Crown Princess Masako of Japan did not attend due to circumstances in their homeland.

There were several substitutions.  I heard that the Queen of the Netherlands was invited but declined. I believe Crown Prince Willem-Alexander and his  wife Princess Maxima did attend but I'm not sure of this.

Yes, John, as to 'regrets'?  I'm sure that someone has reported this....somewhere.

Japan CP couple sent regrets(Japan catastrophe),Jordanian royals sent regrets(middle East crisis),Liechtenstein Princely couple sent regrets(beatification of Pope),the same reason for King and Queen of Belgium,King and Queen of Sweden sent regrets because of King's birthday on 30th of April,while Queen Beatrix also sent regrets because of Queen's day in the Netherlands...

Syrian representative was denied the already sent invitation because of politics...

The party was not only in London. In the shadow of Leeds town hall an enthusiastic crowd gather in Millennium Square, to view the wedding on the big screen.

Well,acually there was a Habsburg at the wedding:

Valerie was born an Archduchess of Austria-Tuscany and is currently Margravine von Baden...

And Bourbon family members were present in form of Prince and Princess of Asturias and the Queen of Spain...

We don't know for other guests as there were many and a lot of them were present without their presence being announced previously such as Langenburgs,Badens,Oettingens,Toerrings etc.
