Haven't followed the thread for a while but glad there's more info coming to light about the Tsar's visit to this part of the world. I believe the tree he planted was at the Botanical Gardens in the hill country Kandy. Must check it up when I visit there. Incidently, I found a local book on turn of the century socialites and leading families which mentions that Nicholas did attend a very lavish and extravagant wedding of an important and well to do Sri Lankan family  while in Colombo. Shall try to dig up on that.

One volume per 1000$is very cheap for Russia.

The original Russian edition of Prince E. E. Ukhtomsky's six-volume account is a set of three large albums, two volumes in each album.

The cover of Vol. 1:

As might be expected, Harvard has a set:

Partial re-print in Russian 919930:

More resent publications of parts of the series in English (1999):

A two-volume re-print in Russian (2010), 772 pages:
http://www.otchiy.ru/shop/UID_303.html
"Based on the French and German versions, originally published as ... Voyage en Orient de Son Altesse Impériale le Césarevitch (S.M. Nicolas II), 1890-1891, Indo-Chine, Chine, Japon, Sibérie ... and ... Orientreise Seiner Kaiserlichen Hoheit des Grossfürsten-Thronfolgers Nikolaus Alexandrowitsch von Russland, 1890-1891"--T.p. verso.

Here's an auction house selling the original set for a starting price of $9,300:

A much shorter and cheaper publication in English about Nicholas' visit to Thailand, formerly known as Siam, and to Saigon, Vietnam:
"Czarevitsch Nicolas of Russia in Siam and Saigon"   by Prince Esper Esperovitch Uchtomskij;
translated by Walter E. J. Tips;
published by White Lotus Press in Bangkok, Thailand, in 1999;
http://www.whitelotuspress.com/bookdetail.php?id=E22031.
"The Correspondence of the Empress Alexandra of Russia with Ernst Ludwig and Eleonore, Grand Duke and Duchess of Hesse. 1878-1916"
"Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig and Princess Alix of Hesse and by Rhine in Italy - 1893"
"Ludwig IV, Grand Duke of Hesse and by Rhine - Gebhard Zernin's Festschrift"

Oops! It appears that the title in my previous post was among the ones provided by Inok Nikolai (http://tinyurl.com/7bfxyuk).
My apologies for the duplication.

Seems that Nicky collected quite a lot of stuff on his travels.
