The Farm is the most delightful little palace I've seen yet.  Did Alexander II buy this for Katia, or did she stay in it?  Thanks so much for the lovely pictures.

I know Katia had a dacha near Peterhof, but I doubt if she was allowed to stay at the Farm.
I know at a later date Nicholas and Alexandra lived here while the Lower Palace was being renovated.

The last watercolour shows the sitting room of Maria Aleksandrovna, so I think she also lived there and did not want to share it with her husband's lover. As she had to do in the Winter Palace!

Grand Duchess Tatiana Nicholaevna was born at the Farm in 1897 and Grand Duchess Maria Nicholaevna in 1899.   Tsar Nicholas II and his family occuped the Farm while awaiting the modification and extension of the Lower Dacha.

Thank you so much Gleb for sharing those amazing paintings.   And to you Reco for your photographs.   It seems the restoration of the Farm moves very slowly.

The Farm, the Cottage and the landscaping of the Alexandria park were created according to the designs of   Adam Menelaws

It seems many members of the imperial family had rooms at the Farm palace, even Ella. There´s a desk, supposedly from her room there, still preserved in Peterhof.

Thanks Reco,

very nice photoes. Do you know when they have been taken? I heard the Farm was going under restoration, but the pics show still a palace in bad conditions.

I was looking at an image of  the royal estate of Tatoi in Greece, and I said to myself "I have already seen this palace".
In fact it seems a copy of Alexander II's farm!

Just give a look to this pics:

It is very strange I never saw a palace which was a so "impudent" copy of another one.

Tell me what you think.
