Firefighters extinguish fire in the Farmer's Palace, a small building located on the sprawling czarist summer estate in Peterhof, outside St. Petersburg, Russia, Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005. The 19th century czarist palace outside St. Petersburg was badly damaged in the fire on Thursday. The building was undergoing restoration and it was not immediately clear what caused the blaze. Here in the Netherlands there was een newsbroadcast about a fire in the palace of Alexander II in St. Petersburg.
This palace was build in the 19e centery. The showed a film of a building in the dark on fire. The als showd a film of Petershof. But that palace is much older and not build by Alexander II.

Does any one knows more ???

Is my memory correct that the Farm Palace and the Cottage Palace are seperate buildings, but both
on the Saint-Peterburg side of the park?

Too bad, two summers ago they were doing a
great deal of restoration work in that part of
the park.

I was just surfing the web about ten minutes ago, found this, decided to register and post it. It's an article at the fire and there's a picture of it.

Sad, the article says the Farmer's Palace was undergoing restoration at the time. Only two storeys. Does anyone have any pictures of the Palace before it was burned? Thanks.

Thanks for the link. That was an amazing building. It looked really restored and modern in the photo from the link, but what a shame that it burnt. It's really sad to see pieces of history destroyed. Maybe I'll look for some other photos.
