I read in The Wives of Henry VIII by Antonia Fraser that Katherine Parr's first husband, Edward Borough whom she married in 1529 was actually only a few years older than the seventeen-year-old Katherine at the time they were married. Fraser attributes the confusion over Lord Borough's age (as he is usually mentioned as a man in his sixties) to the fact that Parr's husband's grandfather, another Edward Borough was, at this date, in his sixties.
Does anyone have any more information about this? Anyone know the approximate year that Edward Borough (Parr's husband) was really born in?
