THANK YOU KIRSTEN!! I had always wondered, now I know, it should be "vidur" with a soft d....

Greg_King:
To add to this:

I've heard (not speaking Danish myself!) that Dagmar is pronounced as Dalmar-is this correct?

Greg King

LisaDavidson:
Greg: Dal-mar is how I've always heard it pronounced.

Hvidore: sort of sounds like sneezing - vi-daire

blaesborg:
As there seems to be some interest in how to say Hvidøre, and especially Ø or O as you write.
Ø= try saying early in the morning aloud to your self, then the first sound created by the letters EAR will be the Ø.
Lots of luck Kirsten (I know its difficult!)

Eurohistory:
The smallish Grand Duchess Olga Museum is a nic eplace to visit between Copenhaguen and Roskilde.  Sadly though they do not have the budget to produce things people can buy.  But at leats there you can see some of the Grand Duchess' paintings.

I have seven of them in my collection, a miniscule number compared to what someone else has.
