Australian troops in the Russian civil war
« on: August 07, 2009, 05:09:04 PM »
I dont know if this is out of your time frame but I read somewhere that a small contingent of Australian troops travelled to Russia to aid the allied and white Russian forces during the civil war. I know nothing else about their involvement and was hoping someone could enlighten me. I understand if you cant, but i would appreciate any information.

Thanks for that Mike. I honestly thought that the Australians, my country men, did more for the war but i was mistaken.

As we see it today, no Western power did enough to help the Whites - including Britain, France and USA whose resources were much much greater than Australians'.

I agree completely, the consequences of that mistake were severe.
