What nice photos!!! Her hair was really long, I think that was a little bit difficult for her to
care it. Did she kept it of the same lenght all her life??

Lots of split ends and rats.

I think she could have used a trim or two.  (Or a good conditioner)

I believe that most women of Alix's time didn't ever cut their hair unless they were sick.  Just as she cut off her daughter's hair toward the end.

That's true. Several ladies of that time have a really long hair (royals and not royals). We can appreciate that
on her photos and paintings. I don't know how did that care it?

How about the color of her hair?  I think it was a strawberry blonde?  Not sure though... anyone know for sure?

I think it was darker, maybe when she was young, her hair was lighter, like blond with a little bit of brown, but after she had her kids, I think her hair went more darker, like medium brown - it's visible even on the black&white photos, I reckon.

Did Anastasia got the color of her hair of her mom? I've heard that her hair (Anastasia's)
was red-gold

I can't really tell what exact color Anastasia's hair was, but it seems to be lighter than her mother's.

And I am SO dying my hair once we figure out what color it really was.  I think the closest hair color to Alix's would be Janet Suzman's in "Nicholas and Alexandra".  It's gold-brown with just a tiny hint of red.

Kudos to Frozentears.org.  I was pretty sure from the descriptions that Janet's hair was close to the actual color.
