Данное фото сделано в Царском Селе или только фотографом из Царского Села, где-то в другом месте?
The given photo is made in Tsarskoje Selo or only by the photographer of Tsarskoje Selo, somewhere in other place?

It was taken in Coburg, Germany, in 1894. It was one of the series of pictures made to commemorate the engagement of Nicholas and Alexandra.

Amazing the likeness between  Tsar Nicholas  2nd and  King George  5th...
they could  almost have been twin brothers !

That one must have been taken in 1909, when their last visit to England took place.

Can be but doesnt he look very young for being taken in 1909? maybe during his visit to asist to George and Mary`s wedding?

I'm inclined to think that this is an 'early' rather than 'late' picture, as Nicholas is wearing the uniform of HM Life Guard Hussars, quite apart from looking rather young for 1909. I think it's Colonel-in-Chief's uniform, which puts the date after his accession, so possibly 1896, when he, Alexandra and Olga stayed at Balmoral. During the 1896 visit Queen Victoria made him Colonel-in-Chief of the Royal Scots Greys, so I would expect to see him in that uniform in official photos taken during that visit. However....

I've an idea that Edward VII made Nicholas an Admiral in the Royal Navy - is that correct?

Good guess! but what caughts my attention is that he s not using the wedding band so it could be earlier AKA during his visit to asist to his cousin george`s wedding.

The last one was taken in Peterhof in 1905 - it shows Tsar Nicholas II with Anastasia Nicholaievna's regiment, before leaving to Russo-Japanese war. Traditional way of blessing the army before the departure to the front. I have fuller version somewhere. (Be patient).

I have found this original  photo (already posted as montage with the wife Alexandra and the dog) the photo is taken to Copenhagen ,with  Nicholas is in mourning .perhaps the photo is of 1901. They have made a travel in Denmark? perhaps after the funeral of Queen Victoria or it has not participated?
Thank you
