darmstadt pictures are wondeful. i wonder when they were taken.as there is victoria melita in them it must before 1901.but alexandra feodorovna doesn`t look young in these pictures.any idea?

I believe those photos were taken around 1899-1900.

Here is the version I've got:

And I also found the photo of Nicholas II with his uncle, taken at Stavka, my free supposition in Baranovichi in late 1914/ in 1915:

We can see that the famous Nicholas' photo labeled to be the last one ever taken of him in Tobolsk was actually taken during the war, approx. in 1915.

Tsar in Germany, June of 1913:

In Tobolsk, sawing wood with Pierre Gilliard, winter 1917/8:

I really like the one with Nicholas and his Uncle at Stavka. There's just something about it.

This picture is funny. You can see the ship was moving during the exposition!

Here we call "Exposition" while the person is posing to the photographer and the picture is being processed.

Sorry! sometimes i get lost in translation!

See I see, KF. I think the English term would be exposure. I thought perhaps the ship was on it's way to some sort of exposition, a showing of goods and culture from various countries, for examples.
