Yes ,Georgiy  moved when the photo was taken and so he looks like a living Picasso portrait! VOF, looking at the last two photos you posted, it amazes me all over again that in a fairly short time the family went from such trappings to being in Siberia trying to make a meal from their stores of macaroni. Just incredible.

Hey! Where did you get it? This pic was took at the Sarmiento's Fregate, the ship-school of Navy students from Argentina, my country. This ship travels the earth all seas with graduated Navy Officiers from my country and stops in every single port in the world. It takes all year round to it to get the journey done. It was new at Nichola's times and now, it makes itys anual travel only for tradition, but it is a really great document to have Nicholas photograpohied in it.

I'm from Argentina as well. I did some research, and I found out that the Sarmiento, in her third world trip, in 1902, arrived at the port of Kronstadt, in the Gulf of Finland, and that's the ocassion of Nicholas II visit to the crew of the ship, on August 9. He was accompanied by Alexandra Feodorovna, GD Michael Alexandrovich, Queen Olga of Greece, and other members of the Court..

Another pic of that ocassion, Nicholas inspecting the ship with its captain, Felix Doufurf, followed by the Argentinian Minister in Saint Petersburg, Eduardo Garcia Mansilla.
