It is a novel.

I can't remember the exact story but it's about a girl who basically comes into the lives of Imperial Family when her mother becomes Alexandra's lady in waiting. It follows her from her carefree days to the turmoils of the revolution.

Ashanti is right. Angel on the Square is a book about a girl named Ekaterina (known as Katya) whose mother becomes Lady In Waiting to the Empress. If you click on the link you can read an excerpt.

Thanks to a very generous person called Sarushka over here I managed to get several books also.... My Romanov collection therefore cosinsts of:

Tsar - The Lost World of Nicholas and Alexandra

The Romanovs - The Love, power and tragedy (my second Bible really....)

Camera and the Tsars

Ten years aboard the Imperial yacht Standart

Murder of Imperial family - the investigation by Sokolov

Collections of the Romanovs (about Ermitage)

Rasputin (by Michael de Enden)

Except for already mentioned Carolly Erickson´s weird biography of Alexandra, I have to add "King, Kaiser, Tsar" by Catherine Clay. Really a good book in my oppinion. They had it in "Cheap books" (yes, that´s the name), for 79 CZ crowns (cca. 4 dollars)

I have been living in Finland for university, but most of my collection had to stay in America when I moved a year ago. However I've lately acquired some nice new additions to my collection from my trips to St. Petersburg and Moscow.

My new books + icons (Yes, I didn't have Nicholas & Alexandra yet, fail):

My mock Faberge egg:

I keep leaves pressed in the big photo book. The leaves are from Alexander Palace grounds. :)

I can't even count how many photographs I have at the moment. I've been collecting Romanov things for like nine years and I've gotten collections from different people put together, plus I scan from my books and all that.

Right now I have:

1 icon of NAOTMAA.
1 icon of NAOTMAA that the man who was believed to have found Anastasia's remains (before the real remains were found) sent me.
1 blue glass NII 'Faberge' egg from St. Petersburg. (Plus many other 'Faberge' eggs.)
1 hand painted brooch of Anastasia Nicholaievna from Russia.
2 postcards of Anastasia Nicholaeivna.
20 gold Romanov double-headed eagle buttons.
1 Nicholas II badge.
I know I have more but I'm not at home so I can't look.

Books:

Nicholas and Alexandra
One Lives for the Tsar
Anastasia's Album
Royal Russia
Tsar: The Lost World of Nicholas and Alexandra
My Anastasia
Angel on the Square
The Fall of the Romanovs
The Last Days of the Romanovs
Fate of the Romanovs
The Romanovs: The Final Chapter
Nicholas II: The Imperial Family
The Last Diary of Tsaritsa Alexandra
A Lifelong Passion
The Last Tsar
Nicholas II
The Romanovs: Love, Power, and Tragedy
The 1913 Diary of Grand Duchess Olga Nicholaievna
Nicholas and Alexandra: The Exhibition Album
The Flight of the Romanovs
Rasputin: The Saint Who Sinned
Alexandra: The Last Empress
The Last Grand Duchess
Sokolov Investigation
The File on the Tsar

I think there are a few more but I can't go look right now. I also have roughly 30 Russian/English films/documentaries.

RomanovMartyrs, where can you go in St. Petersburg/Moscow to get books?
