Romanov living in Montevideo, Uruguay
« on: October 08, 2009, 01:58:26 PM »
I have been assisting Emmanuel Romanov, for several months, with his most intriguing story about his family ancestral claim.

It is tedious work, living very distant, working, and translating everything that we share.  There is much to be said regarding the espionage of this period in history, and putting over 90 years of history in perspective is difficult.  Fortunately, Emanuel's mother is alive, and details of photographs and relatives are still apparent in her mind.

I have added below additional information that has been shared in Spanish with English translation.  I am still putting together details of his mother's ancestry.  I give him plenty of homework to do.

Email letter by me:
Emmanuel,

English Translation:
MY MOTHER SAYS THAT she KNOWS TO ALMOST ALL IN THE PHOTO. .....  THE DILEMMA OF MY BADLY ESPRECION MY MATERNAL GRANDFATHER IS A DESCENDANT NOT BY THE PART OF OF WILHELM II NEITHER OF HIS SON JOACHIM, BUT OF THE KAISER WILHELM I. ....

MI MADRE DICE QUE ELLA A MUCHOS DE LAS FOTOS QUE MENCIONO LOS VIO EN PERSONA EN LA RESIDENCIA DE SU PADRE... PERO ELLA INSISTE QUE SU ABUELO ES EL HIJO DE WILHELM II JOACHIM..

English translation:
MY MOTHER SAYS THAT SHE TO MANY OF THE PHOTOS THAT I MENTION SAW THEM IN PERSON IN THE RESIDENCE OF ITS FATHER...  BUT SHE INSISTS THAT HIS GRANDFATHER IS THE SON OF WILHELM II JOACHIM..

MI MADRE SIEMPRE AL QUE MI ABUELO EL DECIA YO SOY DESCENDIENTE DEL KAISER WILHELM I Y LO DEMAS NO IMPORTA YO QUE SIEMPRE LE PREGUNTABA COMO SE LLAMABA SU PADRE EL ME DECIA QUE SE LLAMABA JOACHIM HOHENZOLLERN-HANNOVER. Y AHI ERA QUE NOOOO LO PODIA ASOCIAR A AL KAISER WILHELM II...
English translation..

MY MOTHER ALWAYS TO WHICH MY GRANDFATHER THE DECIA I AM A DESCENDANT OF THE KAISER WILHELM I AND HIM DEMAS IT does NOT MATTER I THAT ALWAYS ASKED HIM AS was CALLED ITS FATHER THE MYSELF DECIA THAT was CALLED JOACHIM HOHENZOLLERN-HANNOVER.  And AHI WAS THAT NOOOO IT PODIA TO ASSOCIATE TO TO THE KAISER WILHELM II...

I will need to stop here for the time being.  This is a young man, who has been out of college only two years.  It is obviously not his area of study, however, he is sworn to being a good son, and honoring his father's wishes, if possible.

I have had difficulty with completing his mother's ancestry and exactly which son of Wilhelm I she is from.  Any help here would be greatly appreciated. I must say, that hose of you involved with the history of Romanovs and relatives have been a great help!  Particularly those who have taken hobby to photographs of this period, and the beautiful videos that you make.  Emmanuel's mother is helping much more with the interaction of our research. She has enjoyed the aundance of photographs! She does not speak English (only German and Spanish),. so it has been difficult for me to make sure the Emmanuel asks for appropriate information.  He has learned a lot.

Best regards,

HMB

As of last evening, I may also add to Emmanuel Romanovs ancestry, his great grand father on his mother's side.

His mother has been very helpful with identifying people, thanks to photos being brought to this forum.

Mother

( 11 December 1945 - Presente)
Edinburgh, Scotland UK

Father                                                                  Mother

(22 May 1915 - 12 April 1996)                                            (15 September 1919 - 4 July 2004)
 Germany                                                                              Edinburgh, Scotland UK

                                                                                     Grand father
                                                                                           Leopold Stewart
                                                                                     (                                              )

I have looked into the relatives around the last Duke of Albany (House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha), who were in Scotland.  Those that were German nationals, were deprived of their titles for bearing arms against England in WWI.

Still lots more work to do!

How nice of you to try to sort it out for them; it is confusing due to the manner of presentation but I would like to confirm that a number of Russians and some Romanovs repatriated to Central and South America following the Revolution. Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna the Younger was one.
