I posted this also on Scandinavian board but I don't think anyone payed notice to it...I think that this woman might be from to Danish or Swedish royal family...or maybe either Bernadotte or Rosenborg...anyone?

Marc, why exactly Bernadotte or Rosenborg? How was the painting labelled ?

The style of the dress is of 1915-1920 years I'd say.

I didn't want to start a new thread so I will use this one. I have searched all the Danish royal Family section and can't find anything that will help me identify some of the people in Tuxen's Painting of the family. (The one with King Christian and Queen Louise). Can someone please help me identify the people in that painting? I have found a post by Grandduchessella in the "Portraits of Eddy" thread that identifies the children the right of the painting. I know that King Edward, Queen Alexandra and Prince Eddy is on the left, who's the children reading after them? If someone can identify from left to right will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

And also, how come Princess Marie of Orleans is not included in the painting? As well as her children?

Katenka, I don't see her in that painting. The princess holding a baby is actually Princess Thyra. Am I right or was it a misidentification?

Prince Valdemar was not marrid to Princess Marie when the portrait was painted, that is why she is not there or any of their children, naturally.

The children from left are Princess Ingeborg and Prince Harald of Denmark, Prince Georg and Princess Marie-Louise of Hannover and the baby Thyra is holding is Princess Alexandra. The painting is from 1883 by the way.

Thank you kmerov and katenka!!!!! You guys have been so helpful. That explains why Princess Marie is not included in the painting. Who is the child Aunt Swan is with? And also where is Xenia in the painting? Is she the one wearing the dress with the red trim? Thanks again in advance. :)

You welcome ^^

I was looking at the hermitage and weird that they labeled the baby as Olga when she was born in 1884 a year after that portrait was painted 0_o

Abue Ksenia...i think she s  on the right with a group of kids , not sure tho!

Well, it's a bit tricky. The big portrait was painted (or Tuxen began painting) in 1883, and Alexandra was born in 1882. Olga was born in 1884. The picture from the hermitage is from 1885. The baby in both pictures look very much the same with the same pose. Most I'D the baby Thyra is holding in the group picture as Alexandra.

You are welcome.
The child with Aunt Swan is Princess Thyra of Denmark.
Xenia is the second last child on the right, between Maud of Wales and Louise of Denmark.

Another question, who is the boy with the group dressed in navy blue sailor suit writing something on the table? GrandDuchessella stated that it was GD George of Russia but I think he's next to Tsarevich Nicholas.
