Photo Editing
« on: September 22, 2009, 03:08:58 PM »
How do people here make their beautiful avatars and other edited images?  Does everyone shell out huge bucks for Photoshop, or send images to someone who has it and have them do the work?  I am a Mac user.  I don't have Photoshop but have a couple of other programs and so far am clueless as to how to even get more than one (unedited) image on the same PAGE--just to print out to look at, without using more than one sheet of paper--let alone edit or blend images!  I have several ideas including a great one for an avatar using images found online.  Any advice would be helpful, thanks.

There are other programs than Photoshop, for example Gimp, in which you can do practicaly everything. You just need practice and skill. If you´re so hopeless with your programs, ´m sure they all have "help" button somewhere.

There is also Photofiltre, much easier to use but you cannot do everything you want with it (for example, colouring pictures. ) But for making avatars and banners, that is great.

Thanks, I was unable to get anywhere with MacGimp, but may try again before going on to another program.
