Most of the pictures of Ella in that website can be found in the Darmstadt archiev too (I actually went there). They were also published in the German edition of the Lobav book on Ella.

The author's name is Lubov Miller. Now you can google it now...

The dress look like a cross between a Russian court dress and a regular evening gown. Maybe a creation of Ella's.

That's a sort of a farewell picture taken before Kitty's marriage. The description at the top right - St-Petersbourg, Moscow, and data - 1887 (the year when Kitty became the GDss' m-of-honour). The left description I can't decipher.

thanks for trying. I was hoping someone might be able to read the left - the writing seems reminicent of Elziabeth's that I've seen elsewhere.
