Here's my confessions as a Romanov-obsessed mom:
I am still calling my youngest kid, a boy, "Baby" even though he just turned 3. (no, he's healthy and doesn't have hemophilia!)
Whenever my younger daughter, who's almost 10, acts wild and squirrely, I think to myself that she is acting soooo Anastasia!
When my two daughters were younger I once had "turn of the century era" sepia tone photos taken of them, wearing lace dresses, with antiques posed around them.
No, I did NOT give them Romanov names. Except one has Marie as her middle name, although that's to honor all the Marys in the family.
Yes, we have a copy of the animated "Anastasia," except we don't watch it very much anymore. I dislike it more, the more I learn about the real story, because someday my daughters who watched the movie will learn the truth when they study history, or read one of my books.
I also have upsetting dreams about them- although in one of them they were killed in a different way- the Ipatiev house was set on fire. I was glad when I woke up.
