English (American in my case): Anna-stay-sha/ Russian: Anna-sta-see-a... Anna-sta-she-a though probably the first!

I think anyhow... i could be wrong or somewhat wrong though!

You are quite right!
I can add that in Russian, the stress is on the fourth syllable: Анастаси́я or an-na-sta-SEE-ya.
(For me as a Norwegian, who naturally pronounces it -sta-see-a and find the English -staysha strange, that Russian stress is the odd part.)

I've noticed that spoken Russian often uses a soft quality on "see/си" sound, almost like a "th" or"sh". It's really interesting to me. "T"s also sound soft in some cases.
I wish I could learn Russian! It sounds so cool spoken.
Probably the English version of the name was adapted because it was easier and less effort to say for Americans and the English...lol, we don't like having to use more words or syllables than absolutely necessary :D

That's right. She pronounces her name "Anna-stay-sha" (even though she spells it "Annastassia" for some reason), but I almost called her "Anna-stah-see-a."

I know I'm obsessed when I go to Walgreens and print out as many pictures as possible for 50 USD! (I don't trust my self with USBs, CD, or external hard drives at all.)

Why Nad dear? My USB is my bestfriend when it comes to pictures but I have three DVD's and CD's which are full of Romanovs (and other roya;s) pictures ;-)

Wow, 50 USD? That's too big. Hehehe, you're really obsessed (like me ;-).
You're obsessed with OTMA if the pictures in your wallet are only of themselves !!!

Amazing colored fotos  by the most wonderful Yelena Aleksandrovna. Endless thank you very much!

When you go see the First Ladies exhibit at the Smithsonian and you only take pictures of the gowns that look like Alexandra could've worn them... like this one (Helen Taft's):

(The neckline wouldn't have been as low if Alexandra wore it though!)

Also, they had a historical coin exhibit and I spent waaaaay too long looking at the 1887 British coin with Queen Victoria on it and a Russian coin with Catherine the Great on it... And then it turned out that my friend's boyfriend who was there with us knew the Russian national anthem, so I made him sing it!

Wow, I love that dress; you're right about it. Funny about you forcing the guy to sing! Ooh, that coin exhibit sounds cool.
I have no idea why we didn't go there when I went to the Smithsonian DX
