When you are in the gym at a time when UK Channel 4 screens repeats of 'Frasier' and there is an episode involving a clock belonging to 'Princess Sonia, daughter of Alexander II'. You say to yourself immediately, 'They've got that all wrong and should have done some proper research!'

Precisely. As I was plugging away on the treadmill I was thinking, 'His legitimate daughter was called Maria, the one who died was Alexandra, and the illegitimate one was Catherine."'

Oh, heck guys (gals!)! :-D

Isn't this the episode when Frasier and Niles find they have the runaway princess's clock and assume they were descended from her? Only to find that they were descended from her maid who nicked it.....I'm thinking that they'd have got MORE complaints from irate royalists if they'd put that elopement story on a REAL daughter of Alexander...:-P

Hearing across a crowded bar the word "AnastAYsia".

Not only do your ears prick up but you really feel the violent urge to walk over and correct his pronunciation.

That isn't even cute or funny.   There is different ways to pronounce Anastasia.      No need to get violent urges because someone pronounce it different.   Anastasia the movie is a good example.

Moving on,

You know your into the Romanovs when,  You see a renactment of the meeting of Stalin, Churchill and Rossevelt at Livadia Palace and just a feeling of excitment that they are Livadia :)

YKYOWTR when your family member has their first baby it makes you think of Alix.

My cousin had her first baby a few weeks ago and it was a good as birth as any,  she didn't need an epidural or an episiotomy (cutting of the vagina to allow easy access of baby's shoulders to come out) although she did need a lot of stitches as she tore.

She made me think of Alix and when she gave birth to Olga,  Nicholas' diary entry.  The amazement to see this tiny being that has grown inside, suddenly out in the open.    Only two weeks before my cousin had seen me and she was very pregnant.   It was an amazing experience holding the baby.

YKYOWTRW you see videos of the White Palace at Livadia with plaques commemorating this historic meeting and you're like "Oh, who cares about them? The IMPERIAL FAMILY lived there !!!"

YKYOWTRW:

You see the new series of Downton Abbey coming on and see the costumes are similar to OTMA' everyday outfits :)

Not Romanov but Habsburg.

The cleaner at work tells you that she's going to Majorca on 28 June, and you think, 'Ah, the death of Franz Ferdinand'!
