That's right Jen even in travel shows when it is about St Petersburg in regards to Palaces, it's always the Hermitage, Catherine and Peterhof. I don't think I have come across a travel show featuring Alexander Palace.

Or did people not recognize Alexander Palace as being one of the premier tourist attractions in and around the city?I said Alexander Palace, I only refer to it as AP when on this forum or talking to other members. My co-workers are in their mid 30s to late 40s and I'm pretty sure the ones who gave me a look of confusion have not heard of the Alexander Palace. They would know of Peterhof, Hermitage and the Catherine Palace as they are the more famous palaces in St Petersburg. The guy who I was talking to knew the AP and it's history while the others didn't. I did say I would like to see all the palaces, and AP would be one of the ones I want to check out on my list of things to see. I wasn't bragging to them that I want to see it the Alexander Palace, I said I would like to see Gatchina, Peterhof, Hermitage, Catheriene (which they all said that would be great to see how the Imperial Family live) and I added "If you want to see the home of the last Tsar check out Alexander Palace."So you see not alot of people know the of the Alexander Palace as a premier tourist attraction of St Petersburg.

Quote from: edubs31 on March 29, 2013, 11:08:00 PMInteresting. I did not realize that.So I guess my Disney parallel would have been more accurate had I said "I'm hoping to get to Disney World...and specifically Blizzard Beach" :-)No, your Disney Parallel comments and questions makes you sound like a dunderhead. Even a person who has had a date with an ice pick through the eye socket sounds more intelligent in thought then you do.

YKYOWTRW...you're colouring Easter eggs with the child(ren) and you attempt a Faberge-inspired design - sans mechanics, of course - but it still didn't turn out all that well. : P
