I have no idea about any of their favorite colors were...hmm.

Here's another one that I actually did just today!

--You go outside with your sister when it snows, just to do an experiment on exactly how much it hurts to be hit by a snowball with a rock inside.

It really does hurt! And she didn't even hit me in the head!

That is funny. I never thought of doing things like that before, but that would be interesting to try it. Any ideas of less painful ones?
In my stories about the Romanovs these are the colors they like:
Olga- blue
Tatiana- teal/turquoise
Marie- golden & pinks
Anastasia-red & pinks, violet
I think that Olga would like most cool shades of colors, cool meaning cold, like blues, purples and peacock green, and that Tatiana would like peackock green, sea green, teal and turquoise as well as some shades of purple. Marie and Anatsasia, i think would like warmer colors: pinks, reds, peach, golden, violet and maybe Anatsasia a sort of green like this.

That's neat...I've thought of the exact same thing! The Tatiana colors seem spot-on. I wonder if their favorite colors are stated somewhere?
I read someplace that Anastasia' favorite color ws purple, but I don't know if it's true or not.

The big pair's bed room room was pink and I forget what the little pairs room was...green? But I have no idea if they decided the rooms colours. I wonder if they ever mention thier favortie color in thier diaries in passing . Interesting topic!

I think the little pair's room was light blue or lavender...which is intirley oppisite of what i would think.
I made some freizes for my bedroom walls, (actually, altogether they measure ony about 2 feet long,) and i alternated blue borders and purple borders with purple-blue-purple-blue butterfly stamps on the blue ones and purple-pink-purple-pink on the purple one & i called the blue-bordered freizes "big pair freizes" and the purple-bordered freizes "little pair freizes"... all of this to say i think the little pair's room would be pink and big pair blue if they chose it themselves. 
does anyone know what color OTMA's playroom walls were?

That's really neat. Was it difficult to make the freizes?
From all the black-and-white photos I can find of the playroom I've gathered that the walls are pale and maybe white or cream...ha. Nothing more

The Little Pair's room was not blue or lavender. It was grey.
The Big Pair's was pink.

I highly doubt they would have mentioned their favorite colors in their diaries as their diaries weren't really emotional musings but more like ledger of events for the day. They had to write in it.

But the most obsessed girls know they're crazy when they date a guy partially because he looks and acts like Alexei or Nicholas or some other Romanov guy.

That's so me, but I usually recognize the similarity afterwards. Guess I'm crazy then : )


I got my obsession started when I was younger and I got addicted to the animated Anastasia film. Then I grew up a bit and got interested in the facts, which grew to an obsession. Or crazyness, maybe. Nowadays I watch that film only for nostalgy and fun.
I often feel so strong need to correct my history teacher when he talks about Russian revolution. It's very disturbing because it's so basic things and some of the students get the wrong idea of the totality. But so far I've kept my mouth shut.

Gray!? Odd.
The freizes were not difficult to make at all. I just cut pieces of 13 inch by 10 inch white paper in half, colored a 1 inch border on the tops and bottoms and then stamped butterflies alternating colors like i discribed in my last post. in between the butterflies i stamped little roses. i can try to scan one of them and post it if you like.

The children's playroom was a pale yellow actually. You can view the rooms in their coloured state through watercolours done in the early 1920's. There is also a book made in the same period describing every room in detail.

What is the name of the book? I'd love to see it, and/or the watercolors.
I have not taken pictures of the freizes yet, but when i scan my OTMA drawings i will scan the freizes themselves. they are just taped on my wall, so it will be easy to take them off.
