I would love to travel back in time and go to them, and like Tayla said, I sometimes daydream about seeing them in like real life/going back in time to meet them, you know, and to see how their daily life was like. :)

As I have said, if I could go back, I'd rescue them and bring them to 2012.  They would be much safer here than there.

Except you'd be taking them away from their world, the culture they knew and many of the people they loved...obviously if it were some type of last second rescue sequence (like in your Bid Time Return story) I'd totally be on board. But had I been able to visit them earlier I'd simply attemp to alter the events of history so they'd survive...even if it meant living their remaining lives in exile with their legacies greatly diminished of historical impact.

I agree(in bold) with you, edubs31. That is exactly what I would do, I would attempt to alter events of history so that they would survive, most definitely.

If I did go back in time, to make sure they would survive, I would go and slap Yurovsky (courtesy of all Romanov lovers!), and at least try to get him to wimp out on the murder, along with his men. That way the Whites would win over Ekaterinburg, bringing them to a safe place. Or I might stop the murder via stopping the telegram. (It was a telegram right?)

I think, if they escaped, they would go to Crimea first, and try to rescue some old stuff, but I think Nicky or Alix or even Olga would realise that it's too dangerous to stay in Russia, so I think they would move to France, (I think Alix wouldn't have liked to expose the girls to Paris though) or the US or Darmstadt. Nicky and Alix would be so much more relaxed, and the girls and Alexei would have a lot more friends! A simple English house, out in the countryside, where Nicky and Alix can grow old, and the children can visit, and the grandchildren will get scratchy woolen sweaters. This is making me tear up a little :)

Talya, I love the idea of your slapping Yurovsky - maked me laugh  :)

If I went back in time, I'd have to assume I did so in an H.G. Wells type of vehicle.   That means I'd have to drag that thing into the Church of the Blood so that when I set it for July 1918 it would end up being right inside the Ipatiev house when it "arrives".   This phenomenon would surely throw Yurovsky and all the guards into a panic which would give me the opportunity to pile the IF into the Time Machine (they'd have to sit on laps - remember in the movie it only held two people).  I'd then set the time for maybe 1991 or so.  This way they'd end up still in their beloved Russia after the fall of the Soviet Union.   From there I'd employ of assistance of everyone here on the AP Forum to take over and bring the family up to speed on what had transpired in the past 80 years and let the IF decide what they want to do and where they want to go.

I know, this is quite far fetched, but it's 11:30 p.m. on a Friday night where I am.  I'm tired and should be in bed.   I just let my imagination run wild.  I imagine the IF is up in heaven reading these posts and having a good laugh.    As much as we all wish we could go back and change history, we have to remember that they are all now with their Savior and wouldn't want to come back, right?  Have a good evening all.

If I had a TARDIS, I could materialize it around all eleven of them.  I would love to see Yurovsky's as a blue box appears and all eleven of them vanish.  Then, I could take them safely away in the TARDIS.

Gloria: I agree on the last part, but I'd at least like to give OTMAA a taste of life, after all, they were so similar to little children.
Tim: If you mean Yurovsky's face, I would pay to see that!

I can just imagine their faces right now, reading all of these daydreams! :)

YKYOWTR when you start to make your own Julian calendar, complete with days of the week and holidays, just so you can crosscheck the dates on diaries and letters. Also, I can't add 13 days without thinking my math is wrong, so the calendar is a bit of a bonus!

Of course, I did that, kind of, in Bid Time Return in which the IF and Co. are snatched away right on front of Yurovsky's eyes :)

I think I will have a read of that, seems like an interesting story. You are a good writer and I love Days of OTMA'S lives, so I'm bound to love this one :)

Returning to the forum with a new YKYOWTR when... You mutter 'Imperial' under your breath every time your history teacher says 'Russian Royal family'. The boy next to me has moved seats now, oops.
