Looking to those last posts I wonder if the demolished wasn't more esthetic than the new one(who is quite well)...

Don't Ukraine have plan of developpement for the palce's area(restoration of remainings buildings or reconstruction?)

Maliy Palace:

Many people considered the Maliy palace an ugly one. IMHO it was quite a charming building.

I second that.  These pictures are gorgeous and the palaces themselves are quite striking in contrast to the neo-classical design of the newer Livadia palaces.

Thanks Svetabel. I will try an interloan to get this book.  I like so much his watercolours. Premazzi and Edward Hau are my favorites for palaces' interiors.

My understanding is that the Maly Palace survived. Can anyone confirm if this link is of the Maly? Although I have a few books on Livadia, there is a dearth of photographs of the outer buildings as the focus is on the main palace.

That is not the Maliy Palace, but probably some old building of those times.
