Sophie was accused of betraying the family by taking money from them and later informing their guards that the Romanov children had sewed jewels into their clothing.(King, Greg, and Wilson, Penny, The Fate of the Romanovs)
I don`t know who thought out this stupidity. Bolsheviks, which "knew" about jewels, not only took their corsages but still fire at grand duchess with them. Excelent logic. ;)

Indeed there in lies the fundamental problem with that particular interpretation. Had the bolsheviks known about the jewels they would have demanded them to be turned over like they did with their other items of similar kind.

The idea that after Sophia Buxhoeveden somehow allegedly betrayed the Imperial Family is not only illogical but that accusation also serves to tarnish the good name of the Buxhoeveden family who served the Russian Empire honorably.
