She is famous by the organization of schools and her famous palace in Talashkino and Flenovo, which was made in old Russian style. After the revolution lived in France. No, they are in Smolensk district. And one of her palaces Khotilevo was in Briansk district. I've been to Khotilevo, but there are only ruins left.

Actually not everything is ruined, her Museum in Talashkino is restaured and it is really beautiful - I'm planning to visit this places.
