The fact that it was Anastasia set off an alarm in my brain right away. True, Anastasia was as likely as any of her sisters, but she's the famous one. Most stories of Romanov lore and claimants tend to be her.

Anyway, if I were going to make up a story like that, I would have damaged the ribbon a little to make it appear old...

Yes, I'm quite certain that the ribbon was attached to the kokoshnik. I may be wrong, but wasn't the ribbon pink? Or maybe I'm just thinking of colored photos from forum users.

It's interesting the stories that people come up with for attention.

This is exactly what I was going to say.

The ribbon was attached to the kokoshnik and was a pinkish color like the kokoshnik itself.

If she's going to make up stupid stories she should at least get her facts right beforehand. It's kind of funny though.

Where´s the info on 1911 kokoshniki from Holly?

I don't have time to search for it but I've read about them a few times in the past 8 years or so. Maybe by searching here you can find information on them.
The Grand Duchesses kokoshniki were made of very light pink silk grosgrain and pearls and the ribbons were pink satin.

you can see in this photo that the kokoshniki is the same color as the girls dresses.

The Girl sounds like she just wants people to watch her videos and she is doing for the same reason that any other Romanov Claimant has, attention.

It would be so nice to imagine that something like this could have happened . . . granted, it probably did, somewhere along the line with at least one of the Grand Duchesses . . . but I have my doubts about this story. As clockworkgirl21 said earlier - Anastasia is the most thought-of one for survival, what with the Anastasia movies (both 1950's and 1997). It would have been much more original to tell such a story about Olga or Tatiana. But this isn't about originality. It seems doubtful that, after all these years, NOW she would come out and say it. An interesting concept-definitely. A believable story-not so much.

it seems like so many of these stories could be faulted if really considered in a hundred ways. again, i agree, the fact its anastasia makes it seem more likley, not onlhy is she the one most thought of for claimant stories, but also the GD most known, so therefore going to be the most searched for/or noticed in a video..and if attention is what was being aimed for, then this sounds about right.
