Nice portrait and totally new for me...But again, her expression is not the one of Alix.

Portrait of Alix (1894-95) by Michael Perchin, from the Royal Collection:

Attention "larri*-otmaprivatealbums" and your Post # 166:  A clarification, so as not to confuse things.  IMO the FRAME is by the Faberge workmaster, Michael Perchin, who also oversaw (until his death) most of the well-known "Egg Production."  Though Perchin was very talented, I am not aware that portrait/miniature painting was one of his talents.  These duties/contracts went to appropriate contractual personnel, either in-house or outside. You will note that this miniature is signed just above the right shoulder of the Empress.   Regards,  AP.

Response to Reply # 175:  "Did the artist paint any other royals?"   Johannes Zehngraf painted the miniatures of the Empress Maria F.'s parents, the king and queen of Denmark, for the "surprise" in the missing (though a photo still exists) Faberge "Danish Silver Jubilee Egg."  He likewise painted the miniatures of the Emperor Nicholas II and his first two children in the Faberge "Lillies of the Valley" Egg, etc.   As for the miniature shown in the Perchin/Faberge frame in Posting # 166, it is definitely a painting, IMO.     AP.

I thought you'd post that. He's hit a home run this time. (American slang meaning : well done ) The eyes are particularly fine, and you can see the girls in this portrait. A good portrait is almost a montage of images...before and after . It's well a glimpse of AF's mother and daughters can be seen as one looks over the features and yet it's Alix

I agree, it is well painted and far more better than his first AF’ portrait especially when it comes to painting her eyes.
