The NovoMikhailovskiy is not huge, and not the biggest after the Winter Palace. I'd say the Vladimir palace looks bigger.

How big is the Palace used by the Dowager Empress and where Nicholas lived just after he was married - sorry cannot recall the name - Anchikov?  I would imagine that was on the large side but I wonder which is next to the Winter Palace in size?

Hi,

The Marble Palace is said to be the 2nd largest palace in SP.
This was Gregory Orlov's home until the Romanov's took it over and the Constantinovichi lived there.
It's just north-west of the Winter Palace & Vladimir Palace near Trinity Bridge.

The Anichkov Palace is large also and is on the Fontanka Canal & Nevsky Prospekt.

Hi Michael,

Sorry but I need to clarify my directions:

The Marble Palace is actually north-east of the Winter & Vladimir Palaces along the Palace Embankment on the east bank of the Neva...
It is to the west of the Moika Canal and that is where I'm getting mixed up in my directions.
One can get quite dizzy and turned around in SP!!

Hope that clarifies up my dopey directions...
