There is no need to be so snotty. I'm so very sorry that you felt it was so much trouble "to even register". My IT guys work for free, they donate their time. They spent hours trying to figure out why some people have the issue, yet others don't. Their only conclusion was that the problem is not on our end, since none of us have the issue they can't see what the problem might be, so trying a different browser was their best and simplest suggestion. They have another one, but it is more complicated, much more, which also requires some more advanced computer skills. I'll gladly share it if you want to try it.
As for the registration process, this Forum is in the top one tenth of one percent of the most visited websites in the world, we have more visitors than Martha Stewart. As a result some thirty or forty registration requests DAILY are from spammers, people who want to come in here and pollute the place with filthy pornography, viagra ads and Nigerian bank fraud scams. I do my best to keep this a quiet, safe and COST FREE place for all of you and the registration process is vital to that goal.
To take on your "highway" analogy: Did you just plop down in car and start driving? or did you have to take a test, pass it and go to your local Motor Vehicle office, apply for a license, PAY a fee and obtain a Driver's License? Do you want to drive on a safe, clean, well regulated highway? or would you prefer a crowded, congested, polluted place with bandits, billboards and drug dealers?
