Empress  Elizabeth at Haddon Hall Derbyshire

Quote.....
Are you kidding? She has nothing on her, except the long hair!!! She looks more like a modern model or actress
By the way... who drew it?
........... End quote

Guilty as charged,  I thought it was time we saw
the 19th century beauty topless.....
give her a break from all those tight laced corsets !

Is it true that Strauss once composed a waltz (or devoted it) to Empress Sissi?? I read at wikipedia that he composed a waltz named "myrthen" for her birthday  but in other source says that it was devoted to her for her wedding. Is it true?? I'm aware that frequently wikipedia has wrong information...  :(

I've also read it was for the wedding, not for her birthday.

Yes I agree...I think Sisi was the first Empress to waltz.

Thank you for the information Jen! I see that the real title of the waltz is "Myrthenkraenze Walzer" instead of just "Myrthen", I must look for it... Thank you very much again for the link!!   :)
