Thanks for that Yelena! It just looks so beautiful, inside and out. Those type of palaces I think are beautiful.

There is one painting I spotted of Sissi on photo 3 (I think it was anyway..) which I thought looked lovely :)

I would too, it would be so lovely to see them for real! The nearest Habsburg related place I have been too is Schonnbrunn...beautiful, but never got to go in it though :( I have also seen a quick glimpse of the Hofburg palace too! Schonnbrunn is beautiful though in real life, so breathtaking (My image: [url]http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/18178_1321005582292_1145385597_983636_7231348_a.jpg[/url)

And that is also new to me! Such a lovely painting, thank you :) Did she have many big dogs or pets?

You're always welcome  ;) and for answering your question, yes. Sissi was a great lover of pets and had several animals with her. The next photo was posted a few years ago by Madame Sisi in the third part of the Empress' thread, on it you can see that she had several parrots and even monkeys! Sissi also loved dogs but mainly big ones, she had many but the most known are Shadow and Plato (I'm not totally sure if Plato is the dark dog of one of her photo sessions). She also adored horses and had many (like Domino and Nihilistic), she was known for being a very good amazon.
Many of the Wittelsbach family members were fond of pets, even Duchess Ludovika (Sissi's mother) liked animals and she was photographed with a dog. Duke Maximilian was also a lover of nature and his children inherited this.

:o She sure did have alot of pets! I guessed she had horses, as I have seen her on photos of horses! But I never knew she had monkeys and parrots, thanks for the photo, once again!

I have just been searching for photos of her on horse back, and found this lovely one, I like it very much:

Not sure about the eyes, but I think her hair was brown, a Rich Chestnut colour!

I read before that her hair was dark blond but she used to dye it chestnut for making the flowers with the ones she loved to decorate her hair to stand out. It's likely that she continued dying her hair when she became even older, I'm not sure if she allowed to have gray hair, knowing her I doubt so.
About her eyes in many paintings they look light brown and in others even blue, I'm sure that they had a dark color, possibly light brown or even olive, as the majority of her siblings, except, of course, of Karl Theodor and Sophie who had light blond hair and blue eyes.

That is very interesting, thank you for posting :)

Perhaps her eyes were a very dark blue, sometimes looked dark? I have no idea...

Her eyes were definitely brown.
Her sister Maria Sophia's eyes , according to her friend, the American sculptor Harriet Hosmer, were violet.

I think that Sissi had hazelnut-colour eyes...They were brown, but also light colkored.

Yes, Sissi's eyes must had been light brown. About Maria I didn't know, thanks for sharing the info. She was like the Elizabeth Taylor of her time, violet isn't a common color of eyes!! I see that among the Wittelsbach siblings there were a lot of different colors of eyes: brown, blue and even violet!!
